The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition held at its headquarters in Riyadh, on Monday, October 31, 2022, a presentation titled: "Role of Media in Countering Terrorism and Extremism in the Era of Social Media Outlets”, delivered by Dr. Eman Ragab, Head of Security and Military Research Unit at Al-Ahram Center for Studies in the Arab Republic of Egypt. IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, member countries’ Delegates and IMCTC personnel attended the event.
Dr. Eman discussed the role of Media in countering terrorism, violent extremism and the key media outlets pertaining to countering terrorism and extremism. She also explored international experiences in using media outlets in countering terrorism, criminal groups and lessons learned from those experiences for the Muslim world.
It is worth noting that the presentation is part of a series of symposia, presentations, and workshops pertaining to the communications domain, as part of IMCTC's four-pronged; ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing, and military counter-terrorism domains).
