H.E. Mohammed Al Bawardi, UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs, received in Abu Dhabi on February 22, 2023, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi. During the meeting, both sides reviewed ways of cooperation and shared visions, and strengthened relations to achieve the desired counterterrorism goals.

They also discussed issues of common interest between the United Arab Emirates and the IMCTC, as well as the latest developments related to IMCTC's initiatives and fundamental strategy.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi underlined the importance of the efforts of the United Arab Emirates, as an IMCTC Member Country, as well as its experience and expertise in countering terrorism and violent extremism.

The visit comes in line with the IMCTC's commitment to establish strategic partnerships among the Member Countries, Support Nations and international organizations, and strengthen relations and ongoing cooperation with all nations of the world in order to raise capabilities and exchange best international practices, information, and experiences in counterterrorism, as well as to join other international efforts aimed at maintaining international peace and security.​
