​The Acting Chief of General Staff of Bangladesh Army, Lt. Gen. Ataul Hakim Sarwar Hasan, received on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the headquarters of Bangladesh Ministry of Defense in Dhaka, IMCTC Secretary-General Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, where both sides discussed avenues of cooperation & shared perspectives for realizing the desired objectives across counter-terrorism domains.

Meanwhile, the two sides also discussed matters of mutual interests between Bangladesh and IMCTC, as well as, the latest developments regarding IMCTC’s initiatives and strategies across counter-terrorism domains.

Further, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi met with Gen. Dr. Benazir Ahmed, Inspector General of Bangladesh Police, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Siddiqi, Head of Counter-Terrorism Intelligence Office, and Brig. Gen. Muhammad Khan of Bangladesh Armed Forces Division, where they discussed the latest developments of the fight against terrorism and IMCTC counter-terrorism initiatives. 

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC strives to strengthen the bonds of the integrated/coordinated communication amongst IMCTC member countries to consolidate international efforts aimed at maintaining international peace and security. He further added that capacity-building, sharing best international practices, information and expertise in counter-terrorism domain jointly with regional and international organizations is another priority. Moreover, IMCTC Secretary-General stressed the importance of Bangladesh as an IMCTC member country with extensive experience and expertise in countering terrorism and violent extremism.
