Riyadh- 21 April 2021
The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) held a symposium entitled “Sources of Terrorist Financing and Countering Methods”, on Wednesday, 21 April 2021, at its headquarters in Riyadh. The symposium was presented by Col. Ibrahim Mousa, Delegate of the Republic of Niger to IMCTC, and Mr. Khalid Arab, Delegate of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to IMCTC, and moderated by Col. Ali Mohammad Mahmoud, Delegate of the Kingdom of Bahrain to IMCTC, under the patronage of IMCTC Acting Secretary–General and in the presence of IMCTC member countries delegates and IMCTC personnel.
At the symposium, an analysis was presented of the relationship between terrorism and financing, and the methods used by terrorist organizations in illicit money-laundering operations that enable them to gain power and spread. The symposium also addressed the main sources and lifecycle of terrorist financing and countering methods.
It is noteworthy that the symposium comes as a part of the series of symposia, presentations and roundtable discussions organized by IMCTC in the Counter Terrorist Financing Domain, which is one of IMCTC four domains of action (i.e., Ideology, Communications, Counter-Terrorist Financing and Military).
