IMCTC organizes a presentation on: Terrorist organizations’ recruitment methods and how to counter them?”

In the presence of the Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, and IMCTC member countries’ delegates, Brig. Gen. Nawwaf bin Nasser Al-Jetaili, Kuwait’s delegate to IMCTC, delivered a presentation on “Terrorist organizations’ recruitment methods and how to counter them”.

Brig. General Al-Jetaili highlighted the key methods and techniques used by terrorist groups in recruiting followers through social media and video games as well as other tools to spread their ideas and lure the youth to join such organizations. He further stressed the importance of countering these organizations by engaging the role of education and family institutions besides the use of conventional and social media vehicles in fighting terrorist organizations and exposing their modes operandi.

The presentation is part of a series of presentations, symposia and workshops organized by IMCTC for the IMCTC’s delegates for purpose of capacity building and exchange of best practices in furtherance of IMCTC efforts in countering violent extremism and terrorism.

It is worth noting that IMCTC consists of 41 member countries working together in the global war against violent extremism and terrorism and contributing to other international efforts for the preservation of international peace and security.
