Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Saudi Arabia visits IMCTC Center in Riyadh

Sep. 10, 2019 – Riyadh: His Excellency, the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Saudi Arabia, Isa Muhammad Dodo, along with the accompanying delegation, visited the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition Center in Riyadh. He was received by His Excellency, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Acting IMCTC Secretary-General, and other IMCTC officials. Both sides discussed means and prospects of cooperation. 

His Excellency, the ambassador, was briefed on IMCTC’s efforts in countering terrorism in the four domains (ideology, communications, CTF and military) and the role it plays in coordinating and augmenting the efforts of IMCTC member countries. During the meeting, both sides also discussed other various issues related to regional and global counter-terrorism and the efforts exerted in that respect. 

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi highlighted the role of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as an IMCTC Member Country, and underscored the importance of strengthening relations, stepping up efforts, continuing common cooperation and sharing experiences and expertise between both sides to support the efforts of countering violent extremism and terrorism. 

For his part, the Nigerian ambassador commended the role played by IMCTC in establishing strategic partnerships with member countries, supporting nations and international organizations, solidifying the relationship and continuing cooperation with the international community for capacity building, exchange of best international practices, information and experiences in countering terrorism and joining other global efforts to maintain international peace and security.
