IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received the Chief of the General Staff of the Republic of Ethiopia, Gen. Adem Mohammed, and the accompanying delegation, at IMCTC headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, both sides discussed avenues for strengthening mutual ties and joint cooperation.
The Secretary-General, during his meeting with Ethiopia’s Chief of the General Staff, Gen. Adem Mohammed, shed light on IMCTC’s goals and achievements in counterterrorism on its four domains (ideology, communication, terrorism financing and military). He further emphasized the importance of joint cooperation and exchange of experiences and expertise between both sides to counter violent extremism and terrorism.
For his part, Gen. Adem commended IMCTC efforts in coordinating and intensifying the efforts of member countries in the global fight against terrorism.
The visit is part of IMCTC’s ongoing efforts to develop strategic partnerships among member countries and supporting nations as well as international organizations to strengthen relations and have constant cooperation with all countries for the purposes of capacity building, sharing of best practices, information and expertise in counterterrorism and joining other countries’ efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
