July,17,2019 ,Riyadh: As part of the continued efforts of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) towards strengthening relations with relevant international organizations, Major General Mohammad bin Saeed al-Moghedi, IMCTC Secretary-General, received Mr. Omar Odeh, the new head of the ICRC's regional delegation for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in Kuwait, at the IMCTC Headquarters in Riyadh, in order to further discuss avenues of joint collaboration.

Major General Al-Moghedi commented that this meeting gave grounds for optimism about opening up new avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and ICRC, particularly in light of the IMCTC continued quest to establish strategic partnerships with international organizations and bodies as necessary to focus on areas of training, capacity-building and exchange of experiences and expertise on strategic action and field coordination in terrorism-affected areas.

It is of great note that IMCTC consists of 41 Member Countries, working together to coordinate and intensify their individual efforts in the international war on terrorism and violent extremism as well as joining other international efforts to maintain international peace and security.
The mandate of IMCTC is to establish strategic partnerships among the Member Countries, supporting nations and international organizations in order to raise capacities, exchange and share international best practices and information and expertise in combating terrorism.
