Islamic Military Counterterrorism Coalition Receives a Delegation of Journalists from Various Saudi Media Organizations

Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, IMCTC Secretary-General, received on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2020 a delegation of reporters representing various Saudi media organizations.

Over the course of the meeting, the visiting delegation was provided with an overview on IMCTC’s approach in countering terrorism through joint efforts and initiatives on its four core counterterrorism domains of action (ideology, communications, terrorism financing and military). All these efforts aim to deepen cooperation and coordination among IMCTC member countries. Its approach is based on the values of legitimacy, independence, coordination, participation and working diligently to ensure that all its counterterrorism actions and efforts are consistent with international norms, rules and laws.

The Secretary-General stressed that IMCTC is well aware of the role of the media, in its all forms, in helping realize the objectives of its initiatives in countering terrorism and extremist ideology. Meanwhile, he further emphasized that IMCTC spares no efforts in building up strategic ties with relevant media outlets to help achieve the objectives of its communications initiatives.

It worth noting that IMCTC comprises 41 member countries working together to coordinate and intensify their efforts, participate in the global war on violent extremism and terrorism and join other international efforts to preserve international peace and security.​
