IMCTC Receives a Delegation from the State of Qatar

The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition received at IMCTC headquarter in Riyadh today, a delegation from National Defense College, senior government officials from various government institutions, security agencies and Qatari Armed Forces' officers.

The Secretary General of IMCTC, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi outlined the great effort of IMCTC in countering terrorism in its all forms and shapes.

The delegation was briefed on IMCTC's approach in countering terrorism across the four (ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing, and military) domains, in addition to IMCTC's role in redoubling of the efforts of its member countries, as well as the latest developments and updates on monitoring and tracking terrorist groups around the world.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC counterterrorism strategic approach is in line with international law in executing its strategic initiatives, and it counters extremist media narrative by discrediting and exposing it excesses and at the same time disseminates a moderate message that seek to educate the public about the dangers of terrorism and extremist groups. 

He further went on to add that cutting off terrorist financing of terrorist groups is one of the most important areas that the IMCTC is working on, as it would dry up the sources of funding for criminal groups that would degrade the funding of extremist movements.

Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi concluded his remarks by pointing out that IMCTC's actions are driven by the noble principle of countering the incitement of violence, radical ideologies and emphasizing the fact that IMCTC member countries are standing together at a time when radical ideologies waning in many countries and communities.
