IMCTC Secretary-General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, received Tuesday, 08/07/2021, a delegation from the General Secretariat of the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).
The delegation got briefed on IMCTC efforts in counterterrorism across the four domains, namely; ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing and the military, as well as its role in coordinating member countries’ efforts in the Coalition. The meeting also discussed avenues of joint cooperation between IMCTC and the GCC down the road.
Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi pointed out that IMCTC represents a fully integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation among member countries across the various counterterrorism domains. He further explained that the Coalition was founded on the principles of legitimacy, coordination, participation and seeks to ensure that all member countries’ counterterrorism actions are in line with international rules, norms and laws.
It is worth noting that IMCTC comprises 41 countries working together to coordinate and intensify their efforts in the global war on violent extremism, terrorism and joining other international efforts aimed at preserving international peace and security.
