IMCTC Receives the Defense Minister of the Republic of Cameroon

The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Saeed Al-Moghedi received at IMCTC headquarters, Tuesday 18/07/2023, His Excellency, the Defense Minister of the Republic of Cameroon and the accompanying delegation.

‎The Defense Minister and the accompanying delegation received a briefing on IMCTC's mission, objectives, strategic initiatives and coordination of the efforts of the Coalition's Member States for the eradication of terrorism. the briefing also covered IMCTC's role in countering extremist ideology, terrorist tendencies through the ideology, communications, counter terrorist financing and military initiatives. The visiting delegation was also brought up to speed on the latest developments and updates on the terrorist groups, incidents around the world and IMCTC's role in keeping a close eye on such activities. 

‎over the course of the meeting, both sides discussed matters pertaining to counter-terrorism, means of strengthening joint cooperation between IMCTC and the Republic of Cameroon across counter-terrorism and violent extremism domains.

‎For his part, HE, Cameroon's Minister of Defense, Mr. Beti Assomo Joseph commended the IMCTC's counter-terrorism methodology, its strategic initiatives and the leading role of Saudi Arabia in establishing and supporting this Coalition.

For his part, the Secretary General, Maj. Gen. Al-Maghedi praised the role played by the Republic of Cameroon in countering terrorism, extremism, and that he looks forward that Cameroon join IMCTC to work together with the rest of member countries in countering terrorism and violent extremism.
