The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received at IMCTC headquarters, Judge Dr. Hatem Aly -Regional Director and Representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for the Gulf Cooperation Council Region and the accompanying delegation.

Over the course of the visit, both sides discussed cooperation in areas of mutual interests between IMCTC and UNODC including counter terrorism financing and anti-money laundering, as one of IMCTC's four counterterrorism domains. The cooperation could also extend to the implementation of IMCTC's strategic initiatives meant to strengthen member countries' capabilities through UNODC programs, and best practices in this field. Moreover, the meeting explored other relevant issues including countering violent extremism and terrorist narrative in the communications domain.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stressed the importance cooperation in countering terrorism in its all forms, manifestations and commended UNODC's leading efforts at the global level.​
