On behalf of HE, the President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazouani, Mauritania's National Defense Minister HE, Mr. Hanena Ould Sidi, awarded Mauritania's National Order of Merit to IMCTC's Secretary General, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi.

Further, Mauritania's National Defense Minister pointed out that this award was conferred on Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi for efforts in stepping up and coordinating international actions against terrorism and extremism across member and friendly countries.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stated that this honor is an incentive for doing more in countering the scourge of terrorism that has adversely affected many countries around the world. He further added that IMCTC, since its inception and up to his moment, has been blessed with the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and the oversight of HRH, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Defense Minister, Chairman of IMCTC Defense Ministers Council, out of Their Royal Highnesses belief that the scourge of terrorism has adversely affected so many countries around the world that it must be confronted and eradicated by all means.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi met also with the Chief of the General Staff of the Mauritanian Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Mokhtar Bolla Chaabane, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest across counter-terrorism domains.​​​
