IMCTC Receives the President of the Saudi Human Rights Commission

The Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received at IMCTC headquarters, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, HE Dr. Hala bint Mazyad Al-Tuwaijri, President of the Saudi Human Rights Commission and the accompanying delegation.

Over the course of the visit, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest between IMCTC and the Saudi Human Rights Commission. HE Dr. Al-Tuwaijri received a detailed briefing on IMCTC's counter-terrorism efforts across counter-terrorism domains, namely, (ideology, communications, counter-terrorist financing and military) as well as its role in coordination and consolidation its Member States' efforts.

Thereafter, the visiting delegation toured IMCTC headquarters, met with Member States' Delegates, and was briefed on the latest developments, updates on terrorist groups and incidents around the world and IMCTC's role in monitoring such activities.

Dr. Al-Tuwaijri commended IMCTC's noble mission and its efforts across counter-terrorism domains and the fact that Saudi Arabia took the initiative to establish this Coalition is a source of pride. She added that the Kingdom spares no effort in maintaining peace, security and stability around the world. HE concluded her remarks by praising IMCTC's multi-faceted counter-terrorism strategy. 

For his part, Maj. Gen. Al-Moghedi stressed that operates as an integrated platform that seeks to strengthen cooperation among its member states and founded on the principles of legitimacy, independence, coordination, participation and ensuring that all its actions and efforts in countering terrorism are in line   in line with international laws, regulations and norms. He further added that the connection between counter-terrorism and human rights is a complementary and is based on the principles of moderate Islam as well as international regulations in this regard.​
